This installation is a winning project for 2018 Explorative Environment Competition in DEA Department, Cornell University. It serves as a design exemplar exploring spatial possibilities in human-environment interactions through responsive architectural elements. Four translucent layers of fabric define and divide the space. The outer layers of fabric independently and automatically fold when a person touches the red dots mounted on the surface. When people entering the space, and approaching the inner layers, the fabrics will automatically fold and reveal the next layer of space. Only by meandering through the layers of spaces, one will see the surprising depth of the layering, which evokes a unique and mysterious perception of infinite spaces.
